CREDIT MATTERS

One of ECLOF's strategic aims is the provision of credit to rural areas, which often lack the most basic infrastructure, including financial services.

Farmers have been able to add value to what they produce. In villages, schools have been able to borrow funds for new buildings. In towns individuals and groups have been able to start their own businesses. Today ECLOF provides loans to more than 40,000 clients around the world.

Over the last 60 years, small loans have changed the lives for thousands of people in Asia, Africa, Latin America and Eastern Europe. Credit is only one tool among the many that are necessary for development and eradicating poverty.
